Here he tells us about his teammates' love for DIY and his own penchant for keeping bees.
What are your nicknames?
Felo, Feego, Filo tia tia, Joonsie. We all get called quite a few different nicknames, depending on how lads are feeling, some can be nice some not so nice!
If you weren't playing rugby what would you want to be?
A teacher probably, I could see myself doing that. I would like to do some adventure marathons when I retire though.
Who are your rugby heroes?
I always liked watching Geordan Murphy when I was a kid so I think he would be right up there. I have trained but never played a game with or against him…yet.
Who has been your worst ever roommate?
Anyone who snores, anyone else is fine.
Which rugby player would you least like to meet down a dark alley?
David Kilcoyne for the simple reason that you wouldn't know what he is up to down it!
What are your guilty 'diet' pleasures?
Luckily I'm a gainer meaning I struggle to put on weight so I can eat quite a lot within reason. Pizza though is a big one for me. I had a Pizza Hut the other day with a hot dog crust… ridiculous.
What do you get up to on a day off?
My housemates Ian Keatley and Barry O'Mahony will probably start a DIY project in the house - usually ending in disaster.
If you had a theme tune to walk out to (like in Twenty20 cricket) what would it be?
'I get Knocked Down' by Tubthumping.
What other hobbies do you have?
I enjoy a bit of bee-keeping and I have a few hives in co. Kerry. And yes it results in abuse from my teammates!
Do you have any superstitions?
Not really, they are more like routines, I think superstitions can take away from the work you put in to you training in the lead up to a game.
