It also forms the first leg of the 1872 Cup - which the Warriors claimed last year on aggregate - and Laidlaw knows more than most as to the importance of the occasion.
The following week Edinburgh play host to Gregor Townsend's troops but Scotland international Laidlaw wants to lay down a marker.
"They are two massive games for us in the context of the season and where we sit in the league," he said.
"The first one is away and it will be a tough encounter and the following week we come back to Murrayfield so hopefully we'll be able to bring some points back and we'll be sitting in a good position.
"It will be a tough game so it's hugely important we get the support, it's great for us to see as a group of players when people turn out and come and watch us, especially when they're tight games, and that extra support can always help you push over the line and hopefully get a great result."
