The 21-year-old played the full 80 minutes in his club's 23-13 home win over Ospreys, ending the Welsh side's run of five league wins on the bounce as WP Nel went over and Gregor Hunter kicked 18 points.
Visser missed a good chance late on to mark only his fifth start for the club since his move from Newcastle 18 months ago with his second try but impressed as Edinburgh halted their slide which had resulted in seven straight losses in all competitions.
And Visser, who also has six caps for the Netherlands, is desperate to continue his development in Scotland alongside other exciting young talent at Murrayfield such as Hunter, Tom Brown and Dougie Fife.
"I have run out at home before, but only in pre-season," Visser told the Scotsman.
"I have a contract up until the end of this season and I'd like nothing more than to take any chance to show the coaches I am worth an extension."
Chances are likely to be at a premium with the return of elder sibling Tim, fly-half Greig Laidlaw, Stuart McInally and Grant Gilchrist among others but with the young Edinburgh players particularly dominating the second half against Ospreys there will be some decisions to make.
