They remain second in the RaboDirect PRO12 table, just a point behind Leinster, and in the quarter-finals of the European Cup.
And Cronin is hoping his extended run in the side continues.
"Things seemed to go well for me. I'm taking it one week at a time, but I am having a good season," he told the Irish Independent.
"I'm happy with how it's going. But I think myself and Killer (Kilcoyne) are pushing each other on a lot. If he plays well, I'm happy too. We both realise that we can't sit back and we are pushing our standards higher each week. No matter what position you play competition brings the best out in each other.
"As a whole, the season has been going well; obviously last weekend was a bit of a blip, but we'll regroup and be stronger for it.
"This year we have two players competing for every position which is outstanding from Munster's point of view. If someone gets injured we have someone ready to slot in.
"But the nature of the beast means there will always be fellas in front of you and behind you trying to take that jersey.
"There are some huge games coming up against Leinster and Toulouse and those are the games you want to start in. You want to play those teams. All I can do is perform well and be ready for those big games."
