However, the former Australia international brings a wealth of experience to Thomond Park having racked up 58 appearances for the Wallabies.
And second-row Chisholm intends to put it to good use after getting up to speed to life in the GUINNESS PRO12.
"It's great to finally be here to play alongside the boys and for Munster with the history that is behind it," said Chisholm.
"I was blowing (after the Ospreys game), I was quite tired to be honest and I'm not particularly happy with my standard of performance but I was happy to get through 80 minutes.
"I like to think I can bring something to the team, but this is a team that knows how to win the big games. If I can fine tune a couple of areas that I'm good at then great."
