Robinson had seven of his former Edinburgh players in his matchday 22 for the start of his latest international coaching assignment and he was happy to see them steer his team to a convincing win.
The Scots took a firm grip on proceedings from the start and were 16 points to the good before the Fijians converted an overlap into a try that cut the gap at half-time to nine points.
But the home side continued to play the high tempo game that saw Robinson steer Edinburgh to second place in the Magners League last season and eventually outscored their rivals by two tries to one.
"I'm very satisfied with the first 35 minutes where we were in complete control. It was a very good performance where we beat quality opposition quite comfortably," said Robinson.
"It's time to say well done to the players who performed well, enjoy the moment and enjoy the win. But we will need to improve our game by about 15% before we face Australia, particularly our speed of ball."
Glasgow Warriors duo John Beattie and Graeme Morrison scored the Scottish tries and Edinburgh outside half Phil Godman kicked the rest of the points. There were also international debuts for Edinburgh hooker Kyle Traynor and Glasgow flanker Richie Vernon as they came on as second half replacements.
