Scotland's record points scorer was able to resume training with Andy Robinson's squad
earlier in the week after pulling out of last weekend's Magners League clash with the Dragons with a foot injury.
But while Paterson is ready to resume playing, Robinson has had to count out two players from the reckoning for the games against the Fijians, Australians and Argentineans.
Gloucester prop Alasdair Dickinson has been sent back to his club to work on his damaged shoulder, while Glasgow centre Max Evans is set to undergo surgery.
Evans has been stood down in order to undergo a minor operation on his knee - the opposite one to which he recently injured. He hopes to be back in action for his club in December.
