Blues Team to Face Edinburgh

Edinburgh returned to winning ways last Friday, with a 32-5 victory over Connacht following on from a pair of defeats. The Scotsmen have won their last five games at Murrayfield in the Magners League since Munster won there, 20-15, on 5 September

However, Edinburgh have won just one of their last five encounters with the Blues: 11-10 at the Arms Park in the Magners League on 4 January, whilst the Blues have won on their last three visits to Murrayfield

Director of Rugby, David Young has selected the following squad to visit the Scottish capital, in their first of three visits to National Stadiums over the forthcoming weeks. In addition to the Edinburgh clash the Blues have big matches against Toulouse in the Millennium Stadium on Saturday the 11th of April in the Heineken Cup and then face Gloucester in the final of the EDF Energy Cup in Twickenham on Saturday 18th of April.

Gareth Thomas - currently suffering with a hamstring injury
Tom James - Picked up a minor calf injury in training this week
Martyn Williams - Aggravated a toe injury last week during training
Andy Powell - Picked up a thigh strain ahead of the Wales v Ireland match
Jason Spice and Maama Molitika - both suffered dead legs in the win over Northampton Saints last Saturday.
Xavier Rush - Rested as a precaution with big EDF and Heineken Cup matches in April.

All the above players should return to full training next week and be in contention for selection for the big match against Toulouse.

Tom Shanklin and Gethin Jenkins have both been rested after picking up bumps and bruises during the 6 Nations and EDF Energy Cup semi final match.
