Whilst play-off rivals Ulster, Leinster and Munster were all involved in a European quarter-final, Kellock and co welcomed a rest from action as they look to prepare for their fierce run-in.
The Warriors currently sit top of the RaboDirect PRO12 table and recorded an emphatic 51-24 victory over Munster at Scotstoun last time out to take another step towards a home semi-final.
No side has ever won a semi-final away from home in the history of the competition and with the Scarlets next up, who are fifth in the standings, Kellock intends to maintain his side's advantage and avenge an earlier defeat.
"Don't get me wrong I would rather be playing a Heineken Cup quarter-final than having this weekend off," Kellock told the Scottish Herald.
"But some guys needed a rest, and now we have to use the fact we are not playing to our advantage, and be that little bit fresher for the following week than some of the other teams.
"We were very excited about the final result [against Munster]. But there were definitely a few things that didn't go well for us. On top of which, we definitely got a few lucky breaks at times.
"But I don't mind the fact that it left us with work to do. Sometimes, you can play a team, scrape a result and think you've cracked it. In a funny way, it's easier to see where the improvements are needed after a good win.
"They [Scarlets] beat us in Glasgow [18-13] which doesn't sit well with me. We didn't perform anywhere near the level we are at now in that game, and that's as big a motive as any. We want to show that we are a better team than we were back then."
