Deprived of a host of Scotland internationals due to the Six Nations including Ryan Grant, Rob Harley, Ruaridh Jackson, Sean Lamont, Sean Maitland and Stuart Hogg, not only have the Warriors coped, they have flourished.
Prior planning has meant that players such as Peter Murchie, Alex Dunbar DTH van der Merwe, Josh Strauss and the outstanding Nikola Matawalu have risen to the challenge.
Scotstoun is now the fortress they longed for and Gregor Townsend is revelling in his first season at the helm, while their victory over Northampton Saints in their final Heineken Cup clash demonstrated that they could well be a force at Europe's top table next year.
Townsend however, is not getting carried away.
"The first half was unacceptable. To be 13-10 down the pressure was on and they responded very well," said Townsend, following their victory over the Blues.
"Getting to first place is good because we know we have some tough games now. It's fantastic to get another bonus point and five matches with maximum points is a league record."
Matawalu now has five tries in his last five games and Townsend reserved special praise for his in-form scrum-half, who also spent a spell on the wing.
"Niko plays as well on the wing as he does at scrum-half," added Townsend. "You could see how tiring the game was especially after that mammoth effort against Ulster last week."
And club captain Al Kellock, who has been on the peripheries of the Scotland set-up and as a result has been back to aid the Warriors cause, believes their recent form has been a while in the making.
"From a Glasgow perspective, last year, when the Six Nations came about, we talked about what we needed," he told the Scotsman.
"We did well in those games, and that pushed us on to the semi-final spot. This season, we've not just done well from games during the Six Nations, we've done as well as we possibly could.
"The double over Edinburgh was also massive at a pivotal point of the season, but I'll tell you at the end of the season where the turning point was and hopefully we will have had a very successful year."
