Despite his tender years, Bennett did enough to convince Gregor Townsend to offer him a permanent deal, scoring a try in his first game since his return in the RaboDirect PRO12.
Now with his future sorted, Bennett revealed that he will be able to focus entirely on his rugby as Glasgow look to maintain the form which has seen them go top of the table.
He said: "It's been great to be back in Glasgow, there is a really strong squad here and we have been on a really good recent run.
"I've really enjoyed it, I spoke with Gregor Townsend and he told me about what he was planning and it was something I really wanted to be involved in.
"I learned a lot from my time with Clermont, but I wanted to get games and I thought that I would get more opportunities with Glasgow.
"Originally I was here on a loan deal but when I got the chance to sign a permanent one I had to go for it.
"I'm really pleased to have it all sorted. It means that I can just focus on my rugby now.
"We have a few big games coming up, starting with a tough trip to Leinster, but the squad is really strong and we are in a good position. Leinster are in good form at the moment though, and it's always a really tough place to go.
"There is a lot still to do to get to the semi-finals, and maybe a home one, and we aren't taking anything for granted, but there is a really good squad building here."
Having broken into the side for the thumping 60-3 win away to the Dragons, Bennett has since been involved with Scotland's Under-20s in the Six Nations.
With that now finished he is back in training with the Warriors and has set his sights on nailing down a first team spot with the RaboDirect PRO12 challengers.
He added: "The Six Nations was a good experience and great to get some games, even if there were a couple of games where we felt we maybe deserved better results.
"Coming back into the squad it's been straight back to work and training hard with five big games to go.
"I want to be involved as much as I can with the first team, and will do everything I can to convince Gregor and the coaches."
