Wilson accepts his performances last season were slightly unpredictable but having talked it over with the Warriors coaching staff something has seemingly clicked.
Since the turn of the year, the 23-year-old has played a vital part in Glasgow's elevation to the top of the RaboDirect PRO12 table with five straight victories in 2013 - including a win over nearest rivals Ulster.
And in gaining more experience on the pitch, Wilson believes he has become accustom to the demands of top-level rugby and hopes to take that into the international arena.
"Something the coaches wanted me to do was to pick up a bit of consistency," Wilson told the Scotsman. "Last season I could have a good game one week and then have a dip the next.
"But, over the last seven or eight games, I think I've been pretty consistent, and that's just maturity and knowing the game.
"Now the chance has come [with Scotland] I'll hopefully grab it with both hands and run with it if I do get on the pitch."
