The Warriors took to the summit last weekend following the 29-13 defeat of the Blues, leapfrogging Ulster, who could only draw with Treviso, on points difference.
Yet the Warriors must still face four of the top six in their final five games - starting with a trip to European champions Leinster after the forthcoming break in RaboDirect PRO12 action.
And Pyrgos, who has five Scotland caps to his name, insists the Warriors can't afford to coast home if they're serious about claiming the title.
"It was massive to beat Cardiff and go into the three-week break on top of the table, but at the same time there is no way we can afford to get carried away," he told the Glasgow Evening Times.
"When we come back we go to Leinster and that is a huge game. Then the following Friday we have Munster at home. And we still have the other sides in contention such as Ospreys and Scarlets to come.
"Then we end the regulation season at Connacht where Dan Parks is now pulling the strings. So there is no way we can get carried away with all of that to come.
"But what Friday has done is put the pressure on Leinster to come out on March 23 and have a real go at us. It is a must-win game for them, but we will be treating it the exact same."
