Weir's displays, notably in the 60-3 mauling of Newport Gwent Dragons in Wales last month, have not gone unnoticed by Scotland interim coach Scott Johnson, with the youngster impressing during a 20-minute cameo in the win over Ireland last time out.
And while Weir has improved from his time with Scotland, he believes the arrival of Gregor Townsend at Glasgow last summer has been key to his rapid progression to Scotland's starting XV.
"I have had to change, because it's two new coaches with Glasgow and Scotland, and there's more going into the attacking side of the game," said Weir.
"It's been a big learning curve to get used to what Gregor and Johnno expect from me now.
"There's also the leadership roles that you have to take on as a 10, and the Dragons game was a good example of how we're working our way into them."
