Connacht have now won four of their last five matches, starting with a morale-boosting 30-11 victory over the Dragons at the start of the year, picking up the scalps of defending champions Ospreys, Cardiff Blues and Zebre along the way.
Elwood's side didn't have things all their own way against Zebre but Dan Parks, the RaboDirect PRO12 all-time leading points scorer, kicking his side to a 23-19 victory.
As a result, Connacht currently sit in ninth place in the RaboDirect PRO12 table but are just three points behind seventh-placed Treviso while victory over Munster at Musgrave Park would bring the top six sharper into focus and open of the possibility of qualifying for the Heineken Cup on league position.
But Elwood was quick to point out that his side can make many improvements on their performance against Zebre, revealing he'll be keeping the province's season targets to himself for now.
"We have our own targets," said Elwood. "We'll come back after the week's break and we'll get ready for Munster. We have another tough three games, starting with Munster away, and then Treviso and Edinburgh, both away.
"We're three on the bounce now and particularly after the last two good performances, people would have expected us to beat Zebre, having beaten them three times already this year.
"But we knew it wasn't going to be easy."
