North is one of 24 RaboDirect PRO12 players to be selected and one of two from play-off chasing Scarlets with Jonathan Davies among four centres chosen.
Both are expected to feature in Scarlets' last game of the regular season at home to Treviso with a win needed to secure their place in the top four.
Scarlets are currently four points ahead of fifth-place Ospreys, who travel to Leinster, and North knows only continued desire and commitment will see start for the Lions.
"All the hard work has come to a great end but all the hard work is about to start again," said North. "I was more nervous in the morning but now I know I am more relaxed.
"I am looking forward to it, it has been a bit of a long season but I am looking forward to this summer tour away and hopefully getting a good few wins.
"Everyone has their own team, all I can do is train hard, work hard and hopefully be in that selection when it comes around."
