Despite an injury-disrupted season, he has been on fire for Treviso, scoring one of four tries in their entertaining 29-29 draw at Ulster last time out.
However with the RaboDirect PRO12 set to return in ten days, and Treviso facing a vital clash with the Cardiff Blues, who sit one place and two points below them, Barbieri's absence would be a big loss.
The Canadian-born flanker said: "At one point [against England ] I tried to steal the ball from Manu Tuilagi without success and in the attempt I got a boot to the hip.
"I don't yet know what the prognosis is so we will have to take it day by day to see, I don't want to make any prognosis."
Treviso currently lie seventh in the RaboDirect PRO12 and are unbeaten at home since November.
