Edinburgh led 12-3 against the Irish outfit at Murrayfield last Friday but were to fall 32-24 for their first defeat in three before their trip to the Stadio di Monigo.
Again Edinburgh were ahead, courtesy of a Greig Laidlaw penalty and a Matt Scott try, however Treviso fought back to run out 30-10 victors at home.
And interim head coach Scott admitted Edinburgh were guilty of making similar mistakes two matches running with one game of the season remaining at home to Newport Gwent Dragons.
"Our intention was to start well and we did that, with some good quick rugby and good decision making, but we let them back in with poor discipline," Scott told the official Edinburgh Rugby website.
"It's a very similar scenario to last week against Connacht, 12-3 up last week, and 10-0 up this week, with a few areas in the game letting us down.
"Credit to Treviso, they're a good outfit, especially here at home, but the stand-out thing from for me is that we made the same errors as we did last week.
"As a coach, I'm very disappointed about that."
