His fifth and final appearance for the RaboDirect PRO12 leaders was a fourth victory in Glasgow colours and came against high-flyers Ulster in February.
Returning to Edinburgh after Michael Bradley had departed and Stevie Scott had been handed the reins, Kennedy made his first appearance for the Gunners against some familiar opposition with Ulster arriving at Murrayfield.
And Kennedy played a starring role in Edinburgh's victory which ended an unsavoury run of 11 straight losses, before playing a watching brief from the bench during the win over Zebre last time out - and he revealed the key to the Gunners' revival has been keeping things simple.
"As soon as Stevie came in it was a case of going back to basics for the rest of the season and that's what we've been doing and it's been working," he said.
"We've won two on the bounce and we want to finish as strongly as we possibly can.
"The message from Stevie was to work and focus on the basics and we targeted winning our five remaining matches.
"People would have looked at the Ulster game and said that would have been one that we'd have lost but we got the win and while we're taking it one step at a time, we're confident for our last three games.
"Going over to Glasgow and playing in a team and training with a squad that is winning and at the top of the league was a fantastic opportunity.
"The lads there were extremely welcoming and made me feel at home immediately and getting the chance to learn of players like Niko Matawalu helped my game no end.
"For the last training session the Glasgow boys made me wear an Edinburgh shirt and if I make I mistake now I'm back at Edinburgh the lads say 'is that what they taught you at Glasgow?' but it's just banter and I give as good as I get.
"I wasn't really around for the difficult run of form but at the moment at Edinburgh confidence is high because we're on the back of a couple of good wins."
If his spell at the Warriors gave Kennedy a front-row seat to Fijian Matawalu and his box of tricks, he now has Mr Consistency to learn from at Edinburgh in the shape of Greig Laidlaw - and he's relishing every minute.
"Having Greig here is fantastic, he's such an impressive player whether it's from stand-off or scrum-half and then you can add his goalkicking to that as well," added Kennedy.
"He was one of the best performers in the Six Nations for Scotland and he's a player who always delivers and that's what you strive towards, performing every single week."
