While Edinburgh are down in the dumps at present with Michael Bradley leaving his post in the summer and the side winning just four of 14 league games this season Scott insists it shouldn't be all doom and gloom.
In the Scotland centre's eyes Edinburgh's RaboDirect PRO12 experience is being put to good use in the Six Nations. Scotland claimed a stirring 34-10 win over Italy on Saturday, with Scott among the try-scorers, and thoughts are now turning to the visit of Ireland to Murrayfield on Sunday week.
And with Scott and co. turning out regularly against Ulster, Leinster and Munster in the RaboDirect PRO12 he's adamant there'll be no surprises come next weekend.
"Ireland are a class team but we won't have any fear," said Scott - who notched his first Scotland try against Italy in his ninth appearance.
"We have played against the same Irish players at club level and while many of them can score from anywhere on the pitch, that is proving the case for us as well now."
