Skipper Sergio Parisse and Martin Castrogiovanni scored in the win but it was fly-half Orquera that caught the eye, providing crucial passes for both and kicking ten points.
That earned Orquera the man-of-the-match award as Italy recorded a second-straight Six Nations home victory over France, but the 31-year-old didn't want to hog the limelight.
"I'm really happy for the team and the fans, after two years we've beaten France again in Rome," said Orquera.
"We were mentally extremely strong right from the beginning, we wanted to win at any cost and we were always in the match. We never gave up."
