It was the province's suggestion to hand Jackson the kicking duties, taking over from usual kicker Ruan Pienaar, and the 21-year-old didn't disappoint.
Jackson missed his first effort but he nailed the next four, just failed with another from 45 metres and then landed three more.
In all, he notched 19 points in the 29-29 draw and was named man of the match, and Jackson admitted he's experienced quite the couple of weeks of late.
"I was very nervous at the start, obviously there's a lot of pressure going into the game," Jackson told the Belfast Telegraph.
"I missed the first one but once I started to get a few over I just felt much more comfortable. I was happy with the ones I got.
"It's been a long couple of weeks, a bit of a roller-coaster really with emotions and stuff.
"Obviously I was chuffed to get my first cap, I loved it. And if I get another one I'll be even more chuffed."
