The defending champions have now lost just one of their last nine games to surge into title contention with only four matches remaining of the RaboDirect PRO12 regular season.
And this run of form, coupled with Wales' Six Nations win, has resulted in a side playing with plenty of confidence in their game according to Tandy.
"This is a real good group with their feet on the ground," he said. "It's a special group and it's a great place to coach players when they are desperate to wear the jersey.
"There's a confidence in the group. The internationals are obviously flying after winning the Six Nations and then we've got guys who put in the performances to go to Ulster and win, to Thomond Park and pick up a draw.
"These boys do believe in themselves and we believe in them, but we've still got a lot of work on."
Despite easing to victory over the Dragons, Tandy felt his side could have been more clinical.
And he is urging them to continue to increase their performance levels ahead of a meeting with Cardiff Blues at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
"We've just got to keep winning now," he said. "Obviously I'd have liked a few more points going into this part of the season - there are some tough fixtures coming up - but the only thing we can do is keep winning.
"We've won one game, but we aren't going to think everything is nice and rosy. We need to be more clinical when we go to the Millennium Stadium next Saturday."
