Of the 31-strong squad announced for the quadrangular tournament in South Africa, 23 ply their trade with either Glasgow Warriors or Edinburgh.
Eight of those named by head coach Scott Johnson are in line to make their senior international debuts in the competition that features Italy, Samoa and the hosts.
Before jetting out, the squad will head north for a special three-day training camp in Perthshire and the Highlands but manager Scott will take into account the after effects of a long campaign.
"At this stage of a physically arduous year the coaches were keen to do something different in our pre-tour activity," he said.
"We have also always received tremendous support from the north of the country and this is our way of giving something back.
"We hope to show our appreciation for the work going on in communities in Perthshire and the Highlands and to give youngsters the chance to catch the rugby bug."
