Beale revealed that they had already tried to tempt Andy Goode and Nicky Robinson to Wales before they chose Wasps and Bristol respectively.
But No. 10 is far from the only position Beale is looking to bolster, although he did concede the search is ongoing.
"The key positions that we have looked to recruit are tighthead prop, outside half, second row and potentially a midfield player," Beale told the South Wales Argus.
"Andy Goode and Nicky Robinson were two very experienced outside halves that (head coach) Darren Edwards and his coaching team felt would add to our squad.
"The moves fell through at the last minute but that doesn't alter our recruitment strategy. We are working in a tough environment but are determined to push on and currently have offers out there in the key positions."
