The Samoan, who has previously played for Ulster, is now looking to get off the mark this Saturday at home to Ospreys.
"It wasn't exactly the way I wanted to start my campaign with Cardiff, but I was proud to put on the jersey, regardless of the result," Paulo told Wales Online.
"I enjoyed playing with the boys. It was a good physical game. The Italians play very hard, but that's not something I mind at all.
"Maybe I could be fitter. It was my first game for a while, but I'm already looking forward to the next one.
"Personally I'd like to finish the season on a high. It's important for us that we all get together and play some good footie.
"Hopefully we can get some fans back on the bandwagon as well and get them turning out in their numbers to watch us play."
