Jackson is among the travelling party who will face the hosts, Samoa and possibly Italy next month.
And the fly-half, one of 14 Warriors in the touring party, is anticipating a tough physical challenge in each of their matches.
"The work we will be doing this week under Matt is going to be vital for the quadrangular tournament," the 25-year-old told the Evening Times.
"Obviously we know we will be playing Samoa and South Africa for sure and they are two of the most physical international teams you can face in the game.
"While we are not sure if we will meet Italy, we know that would be another full-on encounter if it took place.
"So the defensive patterns that Matt puts in place are important and hopefully we will get a solid week's work done at Scotstoun that will give us a good foundation."
