But after Sean O'Brien's calf problem ruled him out of the starting line-up, Schmidt then saw both Brian O'Driscoll (back) and Gordon D'Arcy (calf) limp off during the clash.
Jamie Heaslip's try and the boot of Jonathan Sexton were enough for Schmidt's side to secure the win against Glasgow but with the European Challenge Cup final against Stade Francais and the RaboDirect PRO12 final against Ulster still to come the head coach faces an anxious wait.
"We will have a look at Gordon and assess him in the next 48 hours and find out the real extent of the problem. Brian's back tightened up and he couldn't fully stretch out," said Leinster coach Schmidt.
"He wanted to carry on, but it wasn't really an option against a back line like Glasgow's. I wouldn't be too concerned, and I'm normally concerned about everything, so that's a good sign.
"We will get the glue and sticky tape out so we can put a team together for Friday and the final the week after.
"We didn't want to risk playing Sean against Glasgow, but hopefully he will be alright by next Friday. I don't know we will be doing a lot in the first half of the week and we'll probably restrict our training to Tuesday and Wednesday."
Glasgow outscored their Irish opponents two tries to one and but for a late missed conversion from Stuart Hogg could have levelled the scores.
And Heaslip, who went over for Leinster's sole try, admitted he and his teammates had had to ride their luck at times during the clash.
"We showed moments of what we can do," he said.
"It wasn't for the full 80 and we were very lucky against a side like that - they put two tries to one on us, which was disappointing."
