An Andrew Conway hat-trick confirmed Leinster would have home advantage in the final four with Glasgow's defeat of Connacht not enough to save them from travelling to Ireland.
Leinster have won both meetings between the two sides in the league this season - winning 6-0 in Scotland in November and triumphing 22-17 at the RDS.
But Schmidt admits that will count for nothing when the sides bid for a place in the final - especially with the Warriors hitting form at the right time.
"We've got massive respect for Glasgow, they've probably been the form team of the second half of the season," he said.
"We were lucky to beat them here in March it was nip and tuck that night. There was nothing in it really.
"We're really happy to get the home semi-final. That was our target. We knew the Ospreys, who still had a lot to play for, would chase the win and maybe a couple of tries in the second half.
"We had to start really well in the second half and thankfully enough Andrew Conway got his third try."
