For the third straight season Leinster head into the final fresh from European success - they claimed the Amlin Challenge Cup on Friday with a comfortable 34-13 win over Stade Français - and O'Driscoll is eager for his side to make it a double.
O'Driscoll, who missed the Stade game but will be fit for the Ulster clash, told the Irish Times: "I'm feeling miles better this week.
"At a push I could have played on Friday but with this coming up and the next six weeks I would hopeful I will be in good shape to take the pitch.
"The previous year against Munster when we won the Heineken the week before I think we just got outplayed but I think we threw it away last year (against the Ospreys). It really took the gloss off winning back to back Heineken Cups. I hope we are going to use that hurt."
There was some good news as well for Leinster with the revelation that flanker Sean O'Brien could yet feature against Ulster as he recovers from a knee injury sustained in the game against Stade.
The 26-year-old, who has been at a Lions training camp this week, was expected to be out for a more extended period of time but Lions forwards coach Graham Rowntree appeared more positive on his potential involvement.
He said: "Sean is getting a lot better and has improved quickly over the last 48 hours and with regards to Saturday, watch this space."
