Often, the final has taken place the weekend after a Heineken Cup victory but after lifting that trophy in the last two years, they will not this time around after failing to get out of the pool.
They will however, contest the Amlin Challenge Cup final and should they beat Glasgow on Saturday at the RDS, they will be in another RaboDirect PRO12 final the week after.
Cullen, who leads the side against the Warriors, has been part of the furniture throughout their European success and Celtic League near misses and despite three narrow wins over the Scottish side in their last three meetings, the second row has called for Leinster to get their mental approach right.
"We need to try to keep the focus at this time of year. There are always a lot of distractions," Cullen told the Irish Times.
"Guys are getting picked on various tours, guys are talking about going on holidays, there's awards being handed out around the place, but this is what it comes down to, and trying to put performances in on the big days.
"Earlier on in the year, we weren't looking great to be honest for a home semi. Before Christmas we struggled to back up our performances so it's very pleasing the way it's panned out.
"We've had two very tough games against Glasgow, and there's only been a score between us on both occasions and it's a repeat of last year's semi-final as well.
"They've brought in some really good players, and that's added a huge amount to the way they play. In many ways Glasgow are the form team in the league."
As is often the case, Leinster have timed their end-of-season run-in to perfection and they have won ten of their last 11 RaboDirect PRO12 matches and been irrepressible in the Amlin Challenge Cup.
But Cullen is adamant that the RaboDirect PRO12 has again increased in terms of competitiveness, admitting he's relishing another push for the title.
"I think the league posed a lot of challenges as well during the course of this season," he added.
"It goes through different stages and phases and you've got to manage yourself through those stages. It's a really good breeding ground for players.
"At other stages, teams are fully loaded and it's a real red-hot battle again. I really like the way this league is laid out."
