He has also been involved in a training session against the British & Irish Lions at Wales' Vale of Glamorgan base, and Patchell concedes it's been a whirlwind season.
"It's been awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed it, to be able to do that at just turned 20 is beyond my expectations so soon after leaving school," he told Wales Online.
"I have tried to enjoy every minute of it, take it all in my stride and make a good impression.
"Training against the Lions was a real eye-opener, in terms of ability and of the level they go to with all the backroom staff and everything. It was really enjoyable.
"I'm thrilled to be picked. It's a couple of weeks before we leave for Japan so there's a lot of hard work to be done before we leave."
