With just three games to go in the regular season, Roberts will play his final home game for the Blues this weekend before playing his rugby in France next season.
The 26-year-old British and Irish Lion has played all of his PRO12 rugby with the Blues but will sign off with successive away games at Scarlets and then Ulster.
For Roberts it is the end of an era and while he hopes it won't be the last time he steps out at the Arms Park in his career he admits it will be an emotional day.
"Hopefully it's not the last game I'll play there this weekend," he told Wales Online
"I'd like to think I'll be coming back to Cardiff at some point in my career. Who knows when that will be.
"But certainly on Saturday I'll hopefully go out with a bang and put in a really good performance in my last home game in a Blues jersey.
"It will be quiet emotional. Hopefully I'll stay fit over the last few weeks of the season and give back to the region which has given me a hell of an amount as a player.
"I've been thinking this week about my first game on the Arms Park for Cardiff RFC back when I was about 19.
"I have got photos of that and I will be digging them out this week that's for sure.
"It's a great place and it will be emotional come Saturday. It's a place which holds many fond memories for me of playing in some big games."
