The Blues are expected to field Sam Warburton at seven for the second of two RaboDirect PRO12 clashes in Cardiff on Saturday with Ospreys in return starting with Justin Tipuric in the same position.
Together Warburton and Tipuric helped Wales end England's Grand Slam hopes earlier this month with a 30-3 win at the Millennium Stadium, a result that saw them defend their Six Nations title.
And, while admitting the contest between the two will be absorbing on Saturday, Blues director of rugby Davies believes either teams front five will have a greater bearing on the outcome.
"I'd argue they could be the two best sevens in the world," said Davies. "They are both players I know well and I have huge respect for them.
"I just think we are lucky in Wales to have two such outstanding back rowers, plus you've also got the likes of Dan Lydiate and Toby Faletau.
"We have got some fantastic back row players in this country. Maybe Sam and Justin are slightly different and that's perhaps why they've played well together.
"It will be an intriguing battle for the rugby connoisseur. But it comes down to the front five and who can win the inches there. That's the key thing."
