Talei grabbed a try for the Scottish side in the final game of the RaboDirect PRO12 regular season against the Dragons, the side he will join next season, in what was a man of the match display.
The Welsh side, who finished a disappointing 11th in the standings eight points adrift of nearest rivals Edinburgh, were needing a replacement for the departing Dan Lydiate.
And in the Talei, Edwards insists he is relishing the prospect of a back-row partnership boasting Wales international Toby Faletau and the powerful Fijian.
I'm very pleased Talei is joining us and you know he looked like he really wanted to beat us [last weekend]. It was a great performance," Edwards told Wales Online.
"With Talei alongside Toby Faletau, we stand to improve our firepower. We've got some great back-row players and it's quite mouth-watering to think about what combinations we could have."
