Steffan Jones also touched down in the victory as the Dragons fought back from 14-0 down to claim just their fourth RaboDirect PRO12 win of the season, with Man of the Match Pat Leach earning the plaudits from the home fans.
"That was our first league win since November and it certainly gives us something to build on," said Edwards.
"Tom stepped up and slotted those very difficult kicks and while we have recently been showing some good signs in performances without the results now we have to try and maintain this momentum."
South African centre Doppies La Grange had given Treviso the perfect start with an early try converted by Alberto di Bernardo after six minutes. Filippo Giusti extended the visitors' lead, with Di Bernardo again adding the extras.
But after some poor kicking by Jones, Prydie took over duties from the tee and steered his side home in what Edwards insists could be a turning point for his side with eight games of the season left.
"The boys really fired in the second half and put things right, getting to grips with the scrum and putting some width on the game," he said.
"We left a lot of tries out there but at least we were creating opportunities."
