Not only did the 21-year-old finish second in the RaboDirect PRO12 points-scoring charts with 170 points, 16 behind Ian Madigan, but he also made 26 appearances in his debut season with the Dragons having arrived from Welsh rivals Ospreys - more than the rest of his professional career combined.
Prydie now has the chance to build on his fine domestic season on the international stage after being selected in Wales' squad ahead of June's two-Test tour to Japan.
And the versatile winger insists his return to the Welsh ranks - having made four appearances back in 2010 - can be traced back to putting pen to paper with the Dragons last year.
"It's been a great season for me and I couldn't have asked for more in terms of game time," Prydie told the South Wales Argus.
"Every player wants to be involved with Wales and that only comes through getting plenty of match action.
"It was my third professional season but I'd hardly had any games before. It's been invaluable to play regularly and I've learnt so much.
"Playing is where you learn most and I know that I need to keep improving and pushing on.
"I really enjoyed my first season at the Dragons, even though there were some tough times, and I am already looking forward to next season.
"I'm really happy to be back in the frame. Hopefully I will make the cut but I have got to train hard over the next week or so.
"I enjoyed New Zealand in 2010 and would love to go on another tour so I have to work hard to earn my spot."
