The tighthead prop agreed a new deal with the IRFU along with Cian Healy midweek and is currently in Ireland's Six Nations team giving Jamie Hagan another chance to press his claim for the No.3 shirt.
Ross has played eight times in the RaboDirect PRO12 for Leinster this season and has been a major part in pulling the team into third place.
And the 33-year-old's excellent form for both his club and his country has seen him spoken of as irreplaceable.
"No pressure then," Ross told the Irish Independent. "I won't say it's not nice being talked about that way but, at the same time, there's always some guy out there who believes he can do what I do too.
"I remember when John Hayes was being talked about as being irreplaceable and I was watching him thinking, 'I could probably do a job there'. And I'm sure there are some guys out there thinking the same now.
"You never know what lies ahead. I have the position today and I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts."
