The 21-year-old also shone for Glasgow last season, helping them reach the semi-finals of the RaboDirect PRO12 where they were beaten 17-15 by Leinster.
And after landing back in Scotland to prepare for the new season Hogg is desperate to take Glasgow all the way to the final this time round.
"As much as I would have loved to have been involved with the Test Series team, I'm still coming back here a better player," he said.
"I'm just looking forward to a rest now and then getting back into it with Glasgow. I'm looking forward to getting back into training.
"We got to the semi-finals last year and I'm hoping to do one better in the season ahead. I'm hoping to play a massive part in it."
