The win was the Welsh side's seventh in nine RaboDirect PRO12 games this campaign, keeping them second in the table behind an unbeaten Ulster.
And none of the seven victories would have been celebrated as fervently as this one, Scarlets' first taste of success in the surroundings of Musgrave Park.
It might not have been pretty but in the conditions his side faced Easterby was full of praise for his side's performance, believing it is just the lift they need ahead of the visit of league-leaders Ulster next up.
"I couldn't have asked anything more than that, to come to Musgrave Park and get the result, and the way we played was outstanding," he said.
"The attitude was where we won it. The first half was excellent and we defended on our tryline to end the first half and that probably won us the game because if they had scored there that probably would have won them the game.
"We dug in a second half we were outstanding. We took our chances, it was horrible conditions but we would have taken that before the game.
"The conditions were horrible and we are going to have to play a lot smarter and better rugby at times. But in the conditions we will take the result and move on to Ulster with real confidence.
"This group of players who have set down a real marker going into a busy period now."
