And while the Scarlets will run out at Parc y Scarlets for their final regular RaboDirect PRO12 game of the season looking to leapfrog Glasgow into the final play-off place, there is also the back story of waving goodbye to Jones ahead of his move to Premiership side Wasps.
But with the likes of George North and Aaron Shingler coming through the ranks this season, both for club and country, Jones' departure has been eased.
And the Wales record points scorer insists the Scarlets production line will keep on producing once he has walked through the Parc y Scarlets exit door.
"West Wales is a rugby hotbed and the talent will keep coming through," Jones told the Llanelli Star.
"The nucleus of the squad is still very young. Look at George North, who has only just turned 20.
"These are still young men with huge futures.
"You have to remember a lot of these younger players have already won Grand Slams, played in World Cups - they are gaining vital experience all the time.
"The Scarlets will be okay."
