Fly-half Ruaridh Jackson said last week that the Christmas period could define their season and the man who plays inside him is hoping Edinburgh are short of their best on Boxing Day.
"Edinburgh have changed a lot so some of their players are not as familiar as they used to be," Cusiter told the Scotsman.
"If anything perhaps they are a little up and down and if they have a weakness it is probably their inconsistency. When they are on form they are very, very good

"I've been impressed by Cornell du Preez, he looks like one to watch," he added. "And Greig Laidlaw makes them tick, he's very smart.
"We had a couple of poor performances in the Heineken Cup. We were very consistent at the start of the season but we have to get back to the basics now."
