The 25-year-old has already started more games than any other season - five in the league so far - earning plenty of plaudits for his role in Munster's 22-16 win over Connacht last time out.
Despite his form this season Foley can't rest on his laurels with international locks Donnacha O'Callaghan, Donnacha Ryan and Paul O'Connell at the club, not to mention the likes of Ian Nagle and Billy Holland also looking for game time.
But no matter how tough things get Foley is sticking it out as he bids to help Munster stay top of the pile.
"I'm a proud Munster man and this is where I want to be," Foley told The Irish Independent.
"I'm 25 now and I think I'm starting to get more game-time and, hopefully, starting to push through.
"I have another year on my contract. There are pros and cons (to staying or going) and I have weighed it up and decided to stay and learn from the lads.
"There are another two second-rows, Billy (Holland) and Nages (Ian Nagle) in the same boat as myself, but, hopefully, we're all now getting into the top circle.
"It's great for competition -- in the last few years the depth is phenomenal, never mind the second-row, look at the back-row and there's more coming in.
"You can see why (the Munster v Connacht game) was narky because ultimately players are playing for contracts and for their places."
