Having only been given his first chance with the team in November, Palazzani has been a revelation, also scoring in a narrow home loss to Ulster.
That has seen him earn a spot in Brunel's Six Nations squad where he will likely be vying with Luke McLean for a spot in the side.
Brunel admits there is a lack of options at full-back, meaning that Palazzani will have a great chance to make his international debut during the tournament.
Brunel said: "Palazzani is a logical choice given the performances he's producing. He arrived at Zebre from Calvisano originally as a scrum-half, but he's stood out in the last few weeks at full-back with some particularly interesting performances.
"He's got a good kicking game, he reads the game well, he's young and we want him to get experience at a higher level, it will be interesting to put him in the squad to increase the competition in a position where there aren't that many options."
