And his form has caught the eye of Warren Gatland and his Wales coaching staff as on Monday they drafted him into their Six Nations training squad amid concerns over Ospreys lock Ian Evans, who faces a disciplinary hearing following his red card against Leinster.
Ball, 22, was born in England before moving to Australia and qualifies for Wales by virtue of his father hailing from Colwyn Bay.
And Easterby believes the 6ft 7in powerhouse has a huge amount to offer to Wales should he be given the nod.
"To be honest, I was surprised Jake wasn't in the original squad," Easterby told the South Wales Evening Post.
"I think Rob (Howley) and Gats have had their eye on him for a while, but he has really stood out for us in recent weeks and deserves his call up.
"Jake has got a great work ethic, on and off the pitch. He works hard in the gym and on his conditioning, he is a specimen.
"He is also still only 22 and is late to the game as well, he is still developing. He was playing cricket just a couple of years ago.
"This is well justified and reward for all the hard work he has put in over the last 18 months with us."
