The 26-year-old suffered an ankle injury in December but is now back fit and preparing for Ireland's game with Scotland on Sunday.
And after recovering faster than expected from the blow, Healy is relishing the chance to show what he can do under the new engagement laws.
"I hated big heavy fellas standing two feet away from me and diving on the back of my neck," he said.
"There's a bit more technique to these scrums now and lot more depends on how strong you are as well, so it works in my favour.
"My fitness is at a decent place and I'm going in quite fresh so I'm happy enough.
"It just happened. I came back quick, it worked out well. I wasn't too happy sitting around doing nothing."
