"We will be holding our annual tag tournaments in March which always culminates in the final being played at the half time break on our last home match which this year will be against Treviso.
"This is the 13th year of the competition and will 13 prove lucky for the finalists when they have the unforgettable experience of playing in front of thousands of people on Rodney Parade."
All the schools involved will play in the Melin Homes qualifying group stages. The top four teams then play in a knock out match to secure a place in the grand final.
The grand final, which is again proudly sponsored by Tata Steel, has always been a tight exciting match between schools throughout the Region with winners ranging from Abergavenny, Caldicot, Newport and present holders of the cup are St Marys RC who will be bidding for their third final appearance in a row.
We wish all the schools taking part the best of luck.
With our new partnership with the Job Centre we will be running an event for young men and women between 18-25 looking for the opportunity to improve their employment skills and we are hoping to build on this to extend it to include further days in the future.
Other initiatives include a welcome return for our prestigious partnership with the Princess Trust in which young people are given the skills to help them with their training and occupational opportunities and is one in which we have enjoyed terrific success in the past.
Caerleon Cars have also pledged their support to provide a regional disability programme for youngsters from all corners of our region. This initiative is both rewarding and up lifting for all involved.
Our language community initiatives are also in full swing; we have another six-week Double Club programme planned in our Secondary schools and two more Welsh for Adults sessions at Rodney Parade.
Our Motivate & Learn programme also continued to deliver the goods by motivating Secondary students to achieve higher standards in and around school via 8 weeks of sporting, motivational and educational training.
We are also planning our next major holiday programmes with our successful Easter & Summer skills camps. Dates are available on the Dragons website, commencing on Tuesday April 15.
The family atmosphere at Dragons matches is also a key feature of our community work with clubs and schools from all corners of the region visiting as our guests and enjoying the overall match day experience.
The mascot package supported by Vision Express and our guard of honour in association with Wilkinson are both very exciting innovations for our regional youngsters.
Education with a difference is also in evidence at the community department. We are in the process of producing a new film for our changing room experience for our Second Half Project and the new streamlined booklet featuring captain Coombs which the kids get given on their visits to Rodney Parade.
The future at the Dragons Region looks both exciting and very, very busy!
