Those two setbacks against opposition with similar top four aspirations disappointed Easterby, with the Parc y Scarlets outfit now fifth in the RaboDirect PRO12 standings.
Visits to Leinster and ASM Clermont Auvergne in the Heineken Cup will be far from straightforward, but Easterby believes they have not played as badly as results may suggest.
And the 37-year-old head coach insists his side will be giving 100 per cent, even though they look set to exit the tournament bottom of Pool 5.
"We are entering two European games, one against the reigning champions and another against perceivably one of the top sides in Europe," Easterby told the South Wales Evening Post.
"It is important that we go out and look to gain some momentum back into our season and look to win these next two games. That will never change in my eyes.
"I don't think the final scoreline at Ulster reflected the game. I was pretty annoyed with how we conceded 21 points in the last seven minutes.
"That was unacceptable and it really flattered them and made the final result look very one-sided which at one point it wasn't. We were well in that game, especially at half-time.
"What is important is that every time we win we gain and learn things from those wins, and we have to do the same with losses.
"We have to take things out of it and improve those things. That is my philosophy.
"When we have opportunities we have to be better at taking them. We haven't done that in the last six or seven games.
"We have had opportunities and our accuracy and execution hasn't been good enough. There has a bit of pressure on us to get that right."
