Jones, who has made four appearances for Scotland, was recalled from international sevens duty in New Zealand this week and hopes to offer his new side something a bit different.
"I've had a couple of days travelling and going through about five time zones, so it's good to be here and I'm feeling fresh," he told the club's YouTube channel.
"Tuesday night I found out and flew out on Wednesday morning, so I packed my bags on the flight.
"It's a strange one going between two derby teams where you have been rivals for four years, but I need to be playing rugby so if the opportunity comes to play here then that's good for me.
"It's very exciting. It's great to be named in the starting line-up and I'm looking forward to playing with the boys on Sunday. I will hopefully bring something a wee bit different."
Rory Hughes also makes his debut on the opposite wing having been called up from Stirling County, while Ruaridh Jackson returns from the Scotland squad to start at fly-half.
The game is Warriors' first at Scotstoun for 11 weeks having seen their last two home league games, against Benetton Treviso and Edinburgh, postponed due to the poor weather.
