The defeat was largely down to a poor first hour, in which the home side found themselves trailing 27-12 before mounting a stirring comeback.
In the end the visitors needed a last-minute try from Jordan Williams to seal the win, and deny Treviso a bonus point in the process, and with a trip to Wales to face the Ospreys this weekend, Goosen is well-aware of the improvement needed from his troops.
He said: "We're not too concerned about who the next game is against. The focus for us has to be on cutting out the mistakes that we made against the Scarlets.
"It would be difficult to be happy, but I'm not angry either [about the Scarlets game]. I'm more disappointed.
"But having not played for the last two weeks, it was difficult to get up to speed. We showed in the last 20 minutes how we can play but we need to be able to do that for the full game.
"We'll have to cope without a few of our Italian internationals again, but we just have to get on with it and try to improve."
